Are they realistic or cartoon?

Cartoon, deliberately. The proportions are rounded and nothing is baring its teeth. The plates, spikes and tail clubs are drawn accurately enough to name, so a child who wants to be correct about species still can be.

Is there a simple one for a toddler?

Several. The single dinosaur standing in tall grass or a pond is a handful of large closed shapes. The jungle scenes have foliage behind them and suit an older child.
