Are these scary?
Not remotely. Every bat here has round ears, round eyes and a face closer to a mouse than to anything nocturnal. Several are in costume: a pirate with an eye patch, a Dracula cape, a lab coat. The one hanging upside down with three babies is the one small children go for first.
Why are the wings drawn like that?
Because a bat wing is a hand. The finger bones are drawn in rather than left as one solid triangle, which gives four or five long sections to color instead of a shape you fill with a single black stroke. It is also the part children ask about.
What paper size should I print on?
Any of them. More settings in the print dialog lists the sizes your printer knows about, US Letter and A4 among them, and the bat is redrawn at 300 dpi to fit.
Are these only for Halloween?
They work all year. Bats hanging from a branch, bats crossing a moon, a bat holding a mango: only a handful have pumpkins in them, so the rest sit happily in a bat unit in March.
Can I print a class set?
Yes. A class, a daycare group, a library session. Print what the room needs without asking us. Selling the files or reposting them elsewhere is the only thing off limits.
